About Glazebrook

Situated to the north of the railway station, Glazebrook is the most westerly Church in the Salford Circuit, actually sitting within Warrington. Glazebrook Methodist Church hosts a well known annual performance of Handel's 'Messiah' by the Glazebrook Choral Society every year, something it has been doing for over 100 years!
A Brief History

The Church was founded in 1896. The present building opening in 1908 as part of the Leigh Primitive Methodist Church. When the Leigh Circuit joined the new United Methodist Church in 1932, the Church remained with them, only joining the much nearer Cadishead Circuit in 1939. Centenary Methodist Church, as it used to be known, has been in this circuit, and its successors, ever since.
