Update on Messy Project

The Messy Project… the evangelistic arm of Children and Families work that goes out into local schools to share the love of God.

Currently at St. Mary’s Primary School in Cadishead, the Messy Project encourages children to explore faith by confronting (age appropriate) real life issues they are facing. Together we look at what God says about their situations. For the passed six weeks, children have been looking at biblical ways to overcome fear. The children are open and receptive, they are learning and applying these principles to their lives. They are even sharing what they are learning with their parents, jackpot!

The 2nd of May was supposed to be the final session for this group, but they have enjoyed it so much we have agreed to continue for another three weeks.

When collecting their child, one parent reported that their child couldn’t stop talking about Messy Project and was happy to hear we weren’t finishing so soon.

Other children have gained an understanding of what faith in God is and why it is important, they have learnt the beautiful simplicity of prayer, one child enthusiastically said a prayer to close a session!

The children have come on leaps and bounds. In addition to the session content each week they learn how to independently make snacks/ light meals- some children experimenting with foods they haven’t tried before.

It is beautiful to see friendships flourish as they explore God together and such a privilege to be part of their faith journey, sowing important seeds in their hearts in childhood.

Thank you so much for your prayers, for those who take an interest by asking how things are going, and for those who keep Messy Project in your thoughts.

Those moments are not in vain and in fact contribute to the beautiful journey these children (and families) have begun.

Love and light,
