Messy School Visit to Wesley Methodists

On Wednesday 29th January, the Messy Church team welcomed the Year 2 class from St Mary’s School, Cadishead to Wesley Methodist Church for the afternoon. What fun we had sharing what it means to be part of God’s amazing family. We started the afternoon by finding about how different families are and how we can be family in other ways. We though about how their class and their schools are like being part of a family.

We then moved into three groups to do three different activities. The first activity involved us drawing round our hands and writings prayers for family members and then put them on a large tree. Next we had a picture quiz on families while eating gingerbread men! And the last activity was a spin the bottle game where we thanked God for family members really quickly!!

We then joined back together to sing 'Big Family of God' (which you can listen to here and watch a Lego clip based on Psalm 139. Clare explained about how each of us is known by God and that together we are part of a world wide church. We finished our afternoon by singing 'Shine' (which you can listen to here)

Watching the children sing and dance and worship God was a perfect end to the afternoon.

Look out for Experience Easter coming soon!
