At the end of our Sunday celebration service on 3rd March 2019, we closed our doors of Manchester Road Methodist Church. As the majority of you will know this was a difficult decision to make. Yes there were a lot of tears over the weekend as well as the opportunity to realise that this was not an end to a Christian witness being retained and made new in the Swinton area as our Superintendent minister the Rev’d Clare Stainsby handed the ‘Baton’ over to Kings Church in the form of a lighted candle.’
On the Saturday we had a lovely afternoon where old friends came back and we shared laughter, memories and a great buffet as part of the Open Church.
Picture of the Open Church and a recording of the Closing Worship can be seen here
We continue to pray for the work of Kings Church as they worship and reach out to the community.
